Pop art is a visual art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in the late 1950s in the United States.[1] Pop art challenged tradition by asserting that an artist's use of the mass-produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of Fine Art. Pop removes the material from its context and isolates the object, or combines it with other objects, for contemplation.[1][2] The concept of pop art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.[2]
Pop art is an art movement of the twentieth century. Characterized by themes and techniques drawn from popular mass culture, such as advertising, comic books and mundane cultural objects, pop art is widely interpreted as a reaction to the then-dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, as well as an expansion upon them.[3] Pop art, aimed to employ images of popular as opposed to elitist culture in art, emphasizing the banal or kitschy elements of any given culture, most often through the use of irony.[2] It is also associated with the artists' use of mechanical means of reproduction or rendering techniques.
Much of pop art is considered incongruent, as the conceptual practices that are often used make it difficult for some to readily comprehend. Pop art and Minimalism are considered to be the last Modern Art movements and thus the precursors to Postmodern art, or some of the earliest examples of Postmodern Art themselves.[4]
Pop art often takes as its imagery that which is currently in use in advertising.[5] Product labeling and logos figure prominently in the imagery chosen by pop artists. The Campbell's Soup Can label, by Andy Warhol, is one of the most recognized examples. Even labeling on the shipping carton containing retail items has been used as subject matter in pop art. Consider Warhol's 1964 Campbell's Tomato Juice Box and Brillo Soap Box sculptures.

nyoman nuarta
Nyoman Nuarta was born in Tabanan, Bali November 14, 1951. He was the son of the sixth of nine brothers, children of couples Wirjamidjana with Semuda
Apparently the choice is not mistaken, when still a student in 1979, he won the competition Proklamator Statue of the Republic of Indonesia is what has bring ladder to fame, so at this time Nuarta a graduate of Faculty of Art and Design ITB 1979 was produced a hundred more statues, all of his work reflects art sculpture modern style naturalistik and materials used are generally of copper and brass. Although it was difficult, but thanks to skilled hands, the sharpness of logic and sense of art Nuarta sensitivity, both the rigid material that can be formed into works of fine and beautiful
Art of natural talent has been downgraded to a second daughter. The first named Tania diligently with the art department at a university in Melbourne, Australia, and Tasya he’s sister, often accompany Nuarta in studionya. As a sculptor Nuarta Sculpture Garden has been built, which is now almost complete. He built the garden in Sarijadi, Bandung, the air cool and beautiful. The sculpture in various shapes and sizes scattered in the area of three hectares and is estimated to complete the park a year longer. There is built four-storey building that will be used for exhibits and meeting rooms with artistic style. Nuarta have art that you a talent, he is able to change the art of paper sculpture into individual job colossal.
In principle diligently with in the art world, which is hard work. He’s family support is big enough to run in the principle that, so there is no moral burden that into the artists will be bleak future. In art sculpture Nuarta never discuss flow. Because he knew some of the style and the changes that he believes the surplus is another man's being. It is an excess of creativity. Picasso often make their own changes, but there is still a thread merahnya.
One idea was Nyoman Nuarta yangt invite controversy is the statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana in Bali. Development objectives that the statue Nuarta to help older artists who have retired and some arts groups who go bankrupt because of lack of funds. See the development of plastic arts in Indonesia Nyoman Nuarta as a modern sculptor is very concerned at this time because the statue does not yet have a place in the hearts of eligible people. In fact the statue can be used to beautify the environment

modern japanese art of origami by Shin Tanaka
The graphic artist and illustrator Shin Tanaka mixes the traditional Japanese art of paper Origami with modern illustrative styles. In extensive handwork small paper toys become art objects. So he creates an exciting link between the two cultures. The traditional
Tanaka started his playful passion for Origami paper art driven by a simple motivation. He wanted to create all the sneakers he could not afford during his studies. He created little paper models of his favourite shoes and out them on his website. Finally his work was displayed in a showcase of the NIKE design library and his work became a growing number of fans including sneaker freaks, graphic designers and street artists. He got popular with the T-Boy, his youngest paper model, which he developed on his research for a new surface for his graffiti pieces. Because it is very easy to fold the T-Boy and the other toys like Gritty and Spiky, the number of collectors grew fast. In less than one year Shin Tanaka gave his characters new faces in cooperation with over 80 brands (Adidas, Ark United, etc.) and many different artists.
The exhibition opens August 18th in the gallery of the design bureau Less Rain. The agency is not only connected with Tanaka because of it is love to
tanaka one of those rare papercrafters who negotiates form, theme and function by bringing an awesome ‘urban’ style into the delicate world of papercrafting. ‘Cause you know that between poppin’ caps and pimpin’ hos, the thugs be sittin’ at their kitchen tables making tiny cuts in sheets of paper. This week, Shin Tanaka adds the Hoophy to his growing list of free, but still limited-edition, designs. Be sure to check back at his website often, as old designs frequently shift into ’sold out’ mode and are made unavailable while new designs come to the forefront. A new Hoophy will be released every month, in magazine format, as well as a blank Hoophy for your customizing needs.
Hoophy, buried deep within the curves of his hooded sweatshirt, comes just in time for the cold winter months. Download the handy PDF from his site and glue one together - and if you’re really nice, I’ll forward you a sold-out copy of my own Spiky Baby from series six.
